Done so far... back to back doctor appts rest of week

I canned 16 pints of shredded green tomatoes and then shredded enough to do the next batch of green tomato apple pie filling.

I spent a good part of the day doing phone tag with doctor's offices. I confirmed my appt with the cardiologist that is checking my vein problems for today (Wed). His office called back since they realized I live over an hour away, they got the preapprove from my health ins to run a ultra sound before my appointment so I wouldn't have to make a two more trips. That is very nice. Son 2 and Daughter 1 and 4 warned me when they had ultra sound ran on their legs, they had some issues of keeping their balance. I can't keep my balance to begin with... LOL.

Hubby can't go in with me so he is going to do some banking for the business and go look for snow shovels.

Our Chiro office called to confirm we were coming for our adjustments on Thurs. They don't usually call but it was a new girl and she was calling everyone.

My pain doctor's office called and left the message they had ins approval for my injections so to call them to schedule. So I called them back.... and they were at lunch so I had to call back an hour later. That is scheduled for Friday morning.

Which means I won't be doing much more than sitting with ice on my back Friday. I won't do much over the weekend either.

Do you ever feel like all you do is run to doctor's office or testing?

  1. Yes, hubby and I are in our 70s and every once in awhile the Drs. appts. pile up. He just had his physical which is leading to blood work, a shoulder x-ray and a minor surgery. But it's nice to get it out of the way.

  2. I felt that way when mom was alive, but so far I have kept my visits down.

  3. When I had an ultrasound on legs, I was lying down. Thankfully, I did not have to stand. I wonder what is the difference.

    1. The valves in the veins show failure if you are standing where if you are laying it's not as hard for them to pump the fluid correctly is what I was told as Mother and Daddy both were laying down. Probably standing is more common for those with heart problems

  4. I have not been to a doctor in years other than a physical last fall. If they could have given me answers and instead of prescriptions that I will not take things would have been different. The best thing I ever did for myself was switch to alternative medicine. Before that I lived on the doctor treadmill without getting any better. Not saying docs are not best for some.

    1. All of my doctors frown on meds without making sure it's a last resort. Two of the offer alternative meds.

    2. I realized my comment was snarky after I sent it so now I am apologizing. It sure is good to find a doc like you have because they are so rare.

    3. no it wasn't snarky ... I quit going to more than one doctor that was a pill pusher. I don't want to "cover" the symptom..I want fix the problem. Which is why I get back injections instead of being hooked to opioids.

  5. Juls, I'm a voracious reader, often going through several books a week, and always looking for recommendations. This morning I came across an author, of which I had never heard. I thought you might be interested. The author is Linda Castillo and she has a series about Kate Burkholder who is a sheriff in a small Amish town in Ohio. Thought you might like to know about that. I'm going to try her out.
